  Gateway to the Atlantic, since ancient times the Strait of Gibraltar
  (36.5N,  4.5W) is also the border between Africa and Europe.  In Spain to
  the north,  the dark area near the coast is the delta of the Guadalquivir
  River and the  city of Seville.  The small spike of land on the north side
  of the strait is  the actual Rock of Gibraltar.  On the African side, the
  sharp line cutting  across from the coast is dust cloud blowing into Europe
  from Algeria.
