Sand Dune Vegetation of Cholistan (Pakistan) and Some Control Measures Against Erosion

Dr. Mirza Hakim Khan

Abstract

The paper describes the vegetation of sand dunes in Cholistan. Studies enlighten edaphic, biotic, climatic factors and the successional trends on these dunes. It is concluded that the stabilization of these dunes will be possible by protection of indigenous vegetation, restriction, of livestock grazing, development of water points and use of barriers against wind erosion.
