WINDGEN is used to generate the wind parameters for WEPS. When specifying the location, the nearest WINDGEN station is selected by default.
The user can select an alternative station by clicking on the down arrow
next to the station to display a list of nearby stations, sorted by distance
from the specified location. Each station in the list has its distance from
the specified lat/lon coordinates to the right of the station name in the units
specified immediately above the choice list(kilometers or miles).
The number of stations in the choice list is determined by the radius distance from the specified lat/lon coordinates displayed above and to the right of the station input field in the units specified (kilometers or miles). This "Search Radius" distance is set in the 'Miscellaneous' tab of the configuration screen.
