Process: Monitor Irrigation (P 72)
This process simulates the application of water. It simulates applying water via flood, sprinkler and below ground drip irrigation. It can apply a fixed amount on a schedule or in response to plant needs based upon soil water content. It can also reflect resource limitations so that only a maximum amount of water can be applied during a specified interval. All of these can be simulated based upon specific parameter settings associated with this operation. Of the two, rate and duration, only one needs to be specified. The other will then be derived by the science model. Its parameters are:
- Set Irrigation Monitoring Status
- Whether irrigation is turned on or off:
- 0: Turn off irrigation monitoring.
- 1: Turn on irrigation monitoring.
- Maximum Daily Depth of Water Applied
- Maximum daily amount of water applied.
- Rate of Water Application
- Rate at which irrigation water is applied.
- Duration of Maximum Daily Depth Water Application
- Duration for which maximum amount of daily irrigation water is applied.
- Application Height to Soil Surface
- Height above surface (positive number) or depth below surface (negative value) that water is applied.
- Minimum Irrigation Application Depth
- Minimum amount of irrigation water applied.
- Management Allowed Depletion
- Fraction: amount of soil water depletion allowed. 0 is no water depletion and 1 is complete water depletion (wilting point).
- Minimum Days Between Irrigations
- Minimum days between irrigation applications.
