Pre-harvest operation, undercut standing crop with knife and place in windrows with ground disturbance from knife to minimize yield loss from direct harvest at bottom of plant. Used for crops such as dry beans to dry down whole plant in windrows prior to a separate harvest grain from windrow operation. Used in combination and prior to "Harvest, grain from windrows" Operation. A new crop should not be planted or growth initated until harvest is complete. Vegetation is not killed.

Created operation to harvest dry beans by under cutting, windrowing
and then combining using a pickup header all in one operation.
Was not sucessful in making these separate operations
since the undercutting made crop all residue, which is not properly harvested,
in that some critical crop properties for harvesting are not carried over to residue pool.
