Decomposition Tab
The Decomposition tab is used to define:
- Residue Size Toughness Class
- A flag to set the Residue Class:
- 1: Fragile, very small residue
- 2: Moderately Tough, short residue
- 3: Non-Fragile, medium residue
- 4: Woody, large residue
- 5: Gravel, rock
- Decomposition days After which Stems Begin to Fall
- The days of decomposition that are required before stems fall from the plant.
- Fall Rate for Standing Stalks
- The rate at which the stalks fall from the crop, in Number of stalks per number of days.
- Decomposition Rate for Standing Stalks
- The rate at which the stalks decompose.
- Decomposition Rate for Surface (Flat) Stalks
- The rate at which the stalks decompose.
- Decomposition Rate for Buried Stalks
- The rate at which the stalks decompose.
- Decomposition Rate for Roots
- The rate at which the roots decompose.
- Stalk Diameter
- The average diameter of the stalks.
- Mass to Cover Factor
- The ratio of area covered to mass for the crop.
- Residue Evaporation Supression Coefficients
- The multiplier (a) and exponent (b) coefficients for the decomposition curve.
